Our Home, St. John

boarding flight to st thomas

My husband Jimmy and I moved to St. John full time on May 1, 2014. We bought Palm Tree Charters from John and Sue Brandi that November. We were off island when Irma hit. It was an ‘off-season’ getaway trip to Barbados. We have been ‘trapped’ in boarding flight to st thomasNew England waiting on a return flight for a month.

Side note: I love love love Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, and just might live here if it were not for that ‘winter’ thing.

I will be on island day today and want to give you an accurate as I see it account of the St. John rebuild.

We are originally from TN. Some say move back. My answer is never. Once St. John is in your heart, you can’t turn your back on it.

I’m in Atlanta ready today to board the plane to St Thomas and then the ferry to St. John. We live in Catherineberg (almost mid island). Our landlord, and friend, is picking us up. Today is going to be hard but every day forward will be an improvement.

I’m not sure how off the grid living is gonna work for me, but I promise to keep you posted🙂
